I am always fascinated to hear how local community groups and small businesses are doing their part to reduce, reuse and recycle.
At the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder, Colorado, the Creation Care Task Force has been promoting the importance of leading a greener lifestyle to congregants for more than four years now. They sponsor an eco tip every Sunday in the church bulletin. In the monthly newsletter, The Flame, they also provide church-goers with some valuable green living advice.
The task force has made reusable bags available to congregants - AND - my absolute favorite, they hosted a showing and discussion of An Inconvenient Truth.
Jane Kuepper a 69 year old retired teacher and member of the Creation Care Task Force, told me that the group sponsors a bike to church Sunday; and coffee hour on Sundays, open between the three services, only uses compostable coffee cups.
i would have sat on the lawn with my children and not worried about grass stains.
